Native Tree, shrub, flower sale

  • March (9) 2019 at: Bob’s Sporting Goods – 1111 Hudson St, Longview WA 98632.

  • Hours of operation: Sat 8AM-4PM / or until stock is gone…limited quantities!

Items are priced between $1 – $3 with all proceeds going to support local natural resource student educational scholorships.

Sample of available native seedlings include:
Conifer –  Douglas Fir, Colorado Blue Spruce, Grand Fir, Giant Sequoia, Western Valley Ponderosa Pine and Western Red Cedar
Deciduous:  Mock Orange, Red Osier Dogwood, Blue Elderberry, Golden Currant, Pacific Dogwood, Pacific Crabapple, Red Flowering Currant

Cowlitz Farm Forestry Association’s annual TREE SEEDLING SALE will take place, Saturday March 9th at Bob’s Sporting Goods parking lot, 1111 Hudson St., Longview. The hours for the sale on Saturday are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm or until the seedlings are gone. Cowlitz Farm Forestry Association is a non-profit organization and a chapter of Washington Farm Forestry Association.

This sale gives the community an opportunity to purchase any number of Northwest native plant stock including evergreen trees, native shrubs, and flowering trees. This year the available seedlings include: Western Red cedar, Douglas fir, Noble fir, Grand fir, Colorado Blue spruce, Giant sequoia, Willamette Valley ponderosa pine, Pacific dogwood, Red Osier dogwood, Mock Orange, Red and Golden Flowering currant, Blue elderberry, and Nootka rose. We will have small quantities of Deer fern, Maidenhair fern, Pacific rhododendron, Pacific madrone and Evergreen huckleberry.

Seedlings are priced from one to eight dollars each and all are fresh from nearby nurseries. Most seedlings are bareroot. 

This event’s proceeds will go to a local scholarship fund at LCC.  So plant a tree and help local students – it’s a win-win for everyone!
