WHO WE ARE:
We’re the support team behind the WSU Extension Cowlitz County Master Gardeners—the wind beneath their wings. Through funding and volunteer leadership, we help make community-based sustainable gardening education possible. From workshops to outreach projects, we’re here to help great ideas take root and grow.
The WSU Extension Master Gardeners are dedicated volunteers who are passionate about our mission to deliver science-based information to the community that helps to conserve and enhance our natural resources while improving the quality of life and well-being of Washington State residents.
Cowlitz County Master Gardener Foundation is a separate, volunteer-run, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that was established in 1990 to support horticultural education and the WSU Extension Master Gardener Program in Cowlitz County. Guided by a Board of Directors, the Foundation provides financial oversight and raises funds to sustain community outreach efforts, including the Answer Clinic, public workshops, and educational events. In addition to supporting the Master Gardener Program, the Foundation awards grants to other horticulture-focused projects, such as our annual Raised Bed Give-away contest.
Our largest fundraiser—and the most visible public event for our Master Gardeners—is the Annual Plant Sale. We invite you to join the Foundation and help us continue this important work in our community.
